Alex joined the Sustainable Business Council in 2026 as Director of Policy & Advocacy. She works with government and other stakeholders to shape effective and sustainable policy settings.
She came to SBC after six and a half years at the Ministry for the Environment, where she was a Principal Advisor in the Climate Change portfolio. At MfE, Alex worked across a wide range of policy issues, including public and private finance for climate action, funding approaches for climate adaptation, disaster recovery responses, and the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme.
Before moving to New Zealand, Alex worked internationally on corporate climate ambition. At CDP, she supported companies around the world to set meaningful commitments ahead of COP21. She was also the policy lead for the Aldersgate Group, a UK based business alliance advocating for ambitious environmental regulation to drive clean, competitive growth.
Alex holds a BSc in Government from the London School of Economics and an MA in International Law from SOAS. Originally from Hong Kong, she is now based in Wellington.
